Our campaign just got even nerdier.

We have our own website. Below you can find resources for your characters, story information, and house rules.

D&D Beyond

Perfect resource for researching races, classes, backgrounds, and equipment. You can also use their character creator to design test characters.

Overworld Map

An interactive map of the world we will be using as a setting. Each location has a description and useful information that may come in handy in the future.

D&D Wiki

D&D 5th Edition has new, additional resources that cost money at D&D Beyond. This site has compiled many of those extra resources for free.

The Story So Far…

A plague on the Land

After successfully warning the City Guard of Luskan in time, the party has redeemed their early failure at Helm’s Hold. The cultists attempted to turn the living here, but the uprising was  quelled and the city was saved.

Captain Davram Bashere has mobilized the entirity of the city’s protectors to patrol the streets to ensure the safety of the citizens. The party took on the task of researching at the Arcane Tower while Logain performed research on his specimens.

After discovering multiple revelations, they delivered their  findings to Logain. Captain Bashere then requested their help in quelling threats to Luskan’s safety. The party headed to the woods just southwest of Luskan to locate Captain Bane, leader of the bandits.

They would come across the forest trolls, Ben and Jerey, and enlist Ben’s help in their endeavors. While journeying into the forest, the party came across the creature known as Hogger and defeated him in combat, claiming his head for the rich bounty it would bring.

Resting after the day’s adventure, the night was filled with revelations about Bindle’s true purpose. Sleep would come easily to Carol, but would be interrupted with a terrifying warning.

Play session recaps

This section is dedicated to write-ups that recap the adventure as it unfolds. It will be a nice way to remember events that you may otherwise forget. It’s also a nice way for me to make sure I keep track of all the pertinent details of campaign.

House Rules

Each DM and game develops it’s own house rules for the campaign. I already have a few things I do that aren’t in the rulebooks, but seem needed.

Initiative Rolls

If you roll a critical success on your initiative roll, you will be granted an additional action. Whether you use that to move, attack, or scratch your butt is up to you. Conversely, critical failures will result in either a lost turn or disadvantage on your rolls, depending on the context of the situation.

If you have advantage on an initiative roll and roll the same number twice, you get a personal surprise round.

Traveling

When traveling along roads, through wilderness, or perhaps even through time and space itself, you will need to roll to determine your success. Typically a Survival or Nature check will determine whether the journey goes smoothly or if trouble is afoot.

Jobs & Occupations

There is plenty of material regarding jobs you may want to take. You are not limited to what you find. We can homebrew content to our hearts’ content. If you have a job you can find information on, but have a creative way you’d like to see it play out, I’m all ears. Let’s have fun with it.

More to come!

I have no doubt I’ve forgotten multiple house rules. I have no doubt we shall create some new ones. I’ll keep track of them here!

Backstory

Theses are the burning questions you’ll need to answer in order to place yourself in the campaign. Expand upon these as much as you’d like!

How did you get to Neverwinter?

Our story starts out in the kingdom of Neverwinter. That begs the question: How did you get there? You can be as tight-lipped or as detailed as you’d like. Develop a story of where you are from and what motivated you to come here, or simply establish a place of origin and a method by which you arrived. It’s up to you!

Why are you with Gundren?

The quest starts with the party setting off to deliver grain to a nearby town. Are you coming along in a professional capacity? If so, what kind? Are you a mercenary in it for the gold? Maybe you’re a citizen of the town in need that came to Neverwinter for help. Perhaps you’re an old friend (or foe) of Gundren who just happened to fall into the situation. You decide!

Do you know any of the party members?

Our party is going to consist solely of the other members of our group. Ask yourselves this: Has you character met theirs before? You could even work on your backstories together! Feel free to use the Facebook Group or our character making session to flesh out these fun details. Don’t be afraid to say you’ve never met any of them. It gives them a chance to tell their story!
Let’s Get Started!

Character Creation

Here is what you’re going to need to start your character: Race, Class, Stats, and Backstory. Your race will give you boosts and bonuses that will help whatever class you pick. Your stats will be determined with one of the two methods below. The backstory is yours to customize completely. Read the “Story So Farstory so far section below, then answer the questions to get started!

How do I get my stats?

Roll for it!

The tried and true method. You roll four D6’s and take the best three numbers. Add those together. Do that a total of 7 times. Drop your lowest. Those are the numbers you can put into your stats. One mulligan allowed.

Standard Array

You skip the whole dice rolling and just start off with the Standard Array. This would be 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, and 8. Rolling dice is the best part of D&D, but if you want to use this method, feel free.
